About the Role:
We are a growing professional services firm seeking a highly organized, results-oriented Operations Project Manager to lead and execute critical cross-functional initiatives. This is a unique opportunity for a candidate from a business, payments, engineering, or operations background to bring structured project management and process development skills into a legal setting.
This role is not tied to any one department but acts as a strategic partner to firm leadership, reporting directly to the Managing Partner. The Operations Project Manager will help drive clarity, accountability, and efficiency across departments by leading and papering special business processes (i.e., formalizing, documenting, and implementing).
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and track cross-departmental projects, ensuring accountability and timely follow-ups (e.g., marketing deliverables, internal reporting deadlines).
- Design, document, and implement key business processes, such as accounts receivable workflows, internal approval procedures, and performance reporting.
- Establish frameworks for process ownership and escalation paths across teams.
- Serve as an internal project manager for the managing partner’s scoping, prioritizing, and driving forward key firm initiatives.
- Identify operational pain points and propose improvements grounded in data and efficiency.
- Build lightweight project reporting systems (dashboards, status updates, checklists) to keep initiatives on track.
- Liaise with department leaders to ensure alignment between strategic goals and operational execution.
- Drive a culture of execution and accountability while remaining flexible to the needs of a professional services environment.
- 4+ years of experience in project management, operations, business process improvement, or related roles—ideally in a high-performance business or tech environment.
- Strong ability to structure ambiguous problems and drive clarity.
- Proven success in driving cross-functional initiatives without formal authority.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable operating in a professional services culture (ideally, but not necessarily, with exposure to law, consulting, or accounting)
- Experience in legal operations or working within a law firm environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Notion, Trello, Airtable).
- Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement certification.
