Warehouse Associate – Catering Operations

YHU Terminal is a joint venture between Porter Aviation Holdings and Macquarie Asset Management, leading the development of a new, state-of-the-art passenger terminal at Montreal Metropolitan Airport (Saint-Hubert). Scheduled to open in late 2025, the terminal will serve up to four million passengers annually, setting a new benchmark in passenger experience and operational safety.
Under the direction of the Warehouse Duty Manager, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for assembling flights, handling catering equipment, washing and sanitation tasks, restocking, receiving, and performing any required warehouse duties.
This role is rotational to ensure full operational flexibility: employees may work in flight assembly, dishwashing/washroom, receiving, bulk build, replenishment, waste sorting, or other warehouse functions depending on operational needs.
Warehouse Associates must consistently demonstrate a professional appearance, safe work habits, precision, and teamwork while meeting strict flight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Flight Assembly (Build / Strip) & Inventory Rotation
- Assemble all galleys, trolleys, drawers, and catering equipment according to airline specifications, diagrams, menus, and SOPs.
- Strip returning flights, remove waste, and properly segregate items in accordance with airline and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, cleanliness, and proper labeling of all assembled components.
- Follow all timelines to achieve on-time performance for aircraft loading.
- Assist with receiving inbound goods:
- verify PO quantities,
- check expiry dates, damages, and labeling,
- record temperatures for perishable items.
- Support daily cycle counts, stock replenishment, and restocking of warehouse shelves.
- Apply FIFO and maintain accurate labeling for storage zones (Dry/Chill/Frozen).
- Clean, sanitize, and reassemble all catering equipment (trays, drawers, pots, pans, trolleys) using industrial washers according to HACCP and sanitation standards.
- Complete cleaning verification logs, sanitizer concentration checks, and temperature logs as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized washroom area and follow chemical handling.
- Carry out other operational duties as assigned by the Duty Manager or Operations Manager.
- Ensure all catering items (meals, beverages, ice, special meals) are handled safely and hygienically.
- Follow YHU food safety procedures, including:
- temperature checks,
- contamination prevention,
- allergen control,
- proper handling of perishables,
- FIFO stock rotation.
- Ensure all products remain within required temperature ranges and report deviations immediately.
- Maintain full compliance with CFIA, IATA, HACCP, and airline food safety standards.
- Verify tamper-evident seals and report any suspicious signs immediately.
- Follow chain-of-custody and secure storage procedures.
- Record and verify temperatures where required.
- Follow all hygiene, contamination prevention, and allergen control practices.
- Clear criminal background & ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in; French/ English is an asset.
- Organized, adaptable, and able to perform under pressure in a time-sensitive environment.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Strong situational awareness and safety mindset.
- Ability to read and understand loading diagrams and operational instructions.
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50–70 lbs regularly.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Must maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Comfortable working in cold rooms (0–4°C) and freezers (–18°C) during specific tasks.
- Flexible schedule, including nights and weekends during peak operations.
- May involve lifting equipment and responding to on-site incidents.
